JOB OVERVIEW
The Accounting Manager is responsible for maintaining the bank’s books and records, liaising and responding to the requirements of the regulatory authorities (BDL, BCC, etc.); liaising and completing with the auditors the audit accounts of the bank and all financial related aspects of the bank.
Operational Duties
1. Obtain and maintain the financial reporting and general ledger structure
2. Prepare budget and forecasting activities
3. Oversee the flow of cash and financial instruments in banks and correspondents
4. Monitors the financial performance of the Investment Banking, Private Banking and Capital Markets departments against budget
5. Ensure existing Finance Procedures are up to date and in line with the financial standards
6. Oversee operations of the finance department, set goals and objectives, and design a framework for these to be met
7. Conduct reviews and evaluation for expenses reduction opportunities
8. Manage the authorization of outgoing transfers and payments
9. Undertake ongoing analysis to identify any gaps in the documentation of Finance Procedures. Close gaps by instigating the documentation of finance
10. Monitors and analyses department work to develop more efficient procedures and use of resources while maintaining a high level of accuracy
11. Prepare payroll and transfer of employees’ salaries
12. Advises staff regarding the handling of non-routine reporting transactions including accruals and prepayments
13. Ensure an accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and year end close
14. Ensure the timely management reporting and regulator reporting of all monthly financial information
15. Responds to inquiries from the Director regarding financial results and special reporting requests
16. Liaison with Internal / External Auditors
17. Manage relationships with the banks, financial institutions and correspondents
18. Prepare financial reports/presentations as desired by the Board and the management
19. Provide insightful information and expectations to management to aid in long-term and short-term decision making

Education Requirements
– Masters’s degree in finances, economics, business management from an accredited university with 10 to 12 years of related managerial experience
– Good oral and written communication skills in Arabic and English, French is a plus
Operational Skills
– Good Microsoft Office skills (Excel, PowerPoint and Word)
– Good technical knowledge encompassing understanding of accounting, financial statements, and reporting
– Good organizational and time management skills
– Attention to detail in follow-up and reporting
