JOB OVERVIEW
As the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) for our pharmaceutical company, you will play a critical role in shaping the financial strategy and ensuring the financial health of the organization. You will be responsible for overseeing all financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, financial planning, and reporting. Your leadership will be essential in driving financial performance, managing risks, and supporting the company’s growth objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Strategy and Planning:
- Develop and implement the company’s financial strategy in alignment with its business goals.
- Lead the financial planning and analysis process, including budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning.
- Provide strategic recommendations to the CEO and executive team based on financial analysis and projections.
- Monitor industry trends, economic indicators, and market conditions to inform financial strategies.
- Financial Management and Reporting:
- Oversee the preparation of accurate and timely financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
- Ensure compliance with local and international accounting standards and regulations.
- Manage the company’s financial operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and tax filings.
- Present financial reports to the board of directors, investors, and other stakeholders.
- Risk Management:
- Identify and manage financial risks, including currency fluctuations, credit risk, and operational risks.
- Develop and implement internal controls to safeguard the company’s assets and ensure financial integrity.
- Oversee the company’s insurance policies and risk mitigation strategies.
- Capital Management:
- Manage the company’s capital structure, including debt and equity financing.
- Oversee treasury functions, including cash management, investments, and banking relationships.
- Evaluate and manage potential mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures.
- Team Leadership:
- Lead, mentor, and develop the finance team to ensure high performance and professional growth.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and accountability within the finance department.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure alignment on financial objectives and business strategies.
- Compliance and Governance:
- Ensure compliance with all financial regulations, including local tax laws, financial reporting standards, and corporate governance requirements.
- Liaise with external auditors, regulatory bodies, and legal advisors as needed.
- Oversee the company’s financial audits and ensure timely resolution of any audit findings.
- Strategic Partnerships:
- Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including investors, banks, and industry partners.
- Participate in strategic discussions and decision-making processes at the executive level.
Qualifications:
- Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field; MBA or CPA/CA certification preferred.
- Experience:
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in finance, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role, preferably in the pharmaceutical or healthcare industry.
- Proven track record of managing financial operations in complex, fast-paced environments.
- Skills:
- Strong financial acumen with a deep understanding of financial management, accounting principles, and regulatory requirements.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Strategic thinker with the ability to drive financial performance and support business growth.
- Proficiency in financial software and ERP systems.
- Experience in managing mergers, acquisitions, and capital markets is a plus.
- Language:
- Fluency in English is required; proficiency in Arabic or Kurdish is an advantage.

- Strong understanding of the economic and regulatory environment in Iraq and the broader Middle East region.
