Industry: Furniture Manufacturing

Position Summary:
The Production and Site Manager will oversee the daily operations of the furniture manufacturing workshop and site installations. The role includes managing production schedules, supervising workers, ensuring quality control, and coordinating the delivery and installation of furniture on-site. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership, planning, and technical skills in woodworking and furniture production.

Responsibilities:
Production Management:
• Plan, schedule, and supervise the daily manufacturing activities in the workshop.
• Ensure efficient use of materials, labor, and machinery.
• Oversee the production process to meet delivery deadlines and quality standards.
• Monitor stock levels of raw materials and initiate timely procurement.
Site Management:
• Supervise furniture delivery and installation activities on client premises.
• Coordinate site team operations, ensuring adherence to project timelines and safety regulations.
• Resolve on-site issues and liaise with clients and the design team for successful installations.
Team Supervision & Training:
• Lead and manage a team of carpenters, upholsterers, polishers, and site workers.
• Conduct training and performance evaluations.
• Enforce discipline, safety, and workflow organization within the team.
Quality Control:
• Implement and maintain quality control procedures across production and installations.
• Inspect finished products and ensure they meet design specifications and client expectations.
Reporting & Coordination:
• Report on daily operations, production output, delays, and material requirements.
• Collaborate with designers, procurement, and sales teams for seamless project execution.

Qualifications & Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Industrial Design, Engineering, Manufacturing, or interior architecture .
• Minimum 5 years of experience in a supervisory or managerial role within furniture manufacturing.
• Strong understanding of woodworking machinery, joinery, finishes, and installation techniques.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Leadership abilities with strong problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in MS Office; knowledge of project management tools is a plus.
• Fluent in English; knowledge of Luganda or other local languages is an advantage.

Salary range : $2500 – $3000
